Mega Project of Malir Expressway is going to launch this month

Coming to and from Karachi Industrial areas always put you in traffic jam or slow traffic. This is the major reason that why people hesitate to pass through roads having such heavy traffic. Large and heavy carriages make the traffic slow and driving on such roads remains no longer easy. Especially, driving on Korangi Industrial Area and Karachi Port has never been easy due to large freight trucks on it.

In this situation, the measure of Local Government Development (LGD) is beneficial for the citizens. It has launched the Malir Expressway Project to provide ease in mobility. It is projected to provide ease of transportation to the public on the roads from where carriages travel. You will get the convenience of driving due to planning of this road which provides ease of transportation from KPT Flyover to Super Highway (M9).

Project details

Local Government Development (LDP) collaborated with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) unit department and successfully completed all the steps of the tender. Director-General PPP unit Kẖạlid Sheikẖ said, the lowest financial bid of Rs. 28 billion for the 39 ḵm long expressway is going to be allocated to the successful director. Other bidders have given greater prices that is why the decision made against the quality and quotes of the developers.

Only 106 acres of land is the hurdle of the project possessed by private owner but Deputy Commissioner has assigned to gain this land according to law. Deputy Director also directed to begin with phase 1 of the Malir Expressway 18 km long. The estimated cost for phase 1 is 32 billion. The estimated time to complete this project is 30 months previously 36 months were given to complete the project.

Interchanges of the expressway built on Qayyumabad, Malir River Causeway, Shah Faisal Colony and Quidabad. Hence, citizens will find the ease of driving through the roads. Moreover, transportation of heavy vehicles through this expressway will also reach to the destination within no time.
