IRAN VS USA: US and Iran on the Brink of World War 3

The Attack

In light of the recent events and the death of General Qassem Soleimani, who was the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which was brought about by the drone strike ordered by the United States on the morning of January 3rd in Baghdad Airport.

• Soleimani was, without a doubt, the second most powerful man in Iran, behind the supreme leader of the state Ali Khamenei.
• There are some ways in which he may have even been the most powerful man in Iran. The assassination of Soleimani by the Trump administration was a part of the low-level proximity war that Iran has been fighting for a long time.
• The backdrop for this assassination was the pre-existing tensions between the United States of America and Iran, upon which Trump ordered Soleimani to be killed.
• Since then, the US has deployed thousands of soldiers in Kuwait and aims to send 3500 more.

Iran's response

There is no way to predict where this will lead both the countries as the Iranian government has said that they will retaliate for Qassem Soleimani's death with all the force that they can counter with. Iran will respond, and it could happen anywhere in the world.

However, it will have the most effective if it happens in US territory or the Middle east. Iranian leaders have a critical calculation to make because economically, the power relationship and its structure is currently in favor of the United States of America.

• America, however, fears an oil stoppage, and Iran, on the other hand, will be risking death to protest Iranian government policies that favor foreign wars over feeding families.

The international prices of oil have jumped up to a considerably high level, and stock prices have seen to be dropped in many countries around the world. There may even be an oil shortage.

• In the American stock market, there was a recorded drop of 234 points, in German stock market a decline of 166 points, Japanese stock market has a drop of 181 points recorded.
• There have also been recorded drop in Hong Kong and Chinese stock markets due to the ongoing tensions between US and Iran.
• There will be an increase in the prices of oil all over the world. It is due to the present conditions in the gulf.

In Conclusion, World War 3 would require Iran to be a state of having a balanced and robust economy, which does not seem to be the case. However, Iran will retaliate for the killing of Qassem Soleimani with as much force as they can, as soon as they can.
